Good news for the car washing industry
With restrictions easing across the country and with life looking a bit more like our pre-COVID days, many in our industry are wondering what the future might hold for car wash operators.
According to strategy research by Macquarie Group equity analysts, if any part of transportation is experiencing a V-shaped recovery it is car use. Many are choosing to drive their own cars due to capacity restrictions on public transport or are afraid to ride on public transport regardless of social distancing. This is very welcome news for car wash operators and our industry which is so heavily dependent on people driving.
Over the coming months, we will be posting a daily morning traffic report on our Facebook page showing congestion levels throughout Australia’s major cities. We have been monitoring the congestion levels ourselves for a couple of weeks and have already noticed a significant increase in traffic on the roads. We believe this information is quite valuable and may spark a bit of hope for car wash operators who may be feeling uncertain of the industry’s future.
